Orange Leaf in Salem

I work in downtown Salem, so Howling Wolf is a regular lunch spot for me at this point. The Howling Wolf burrito will always be my favorite thing on the menu - but I hope you're hungry when ordering it because it is a beast. Great beer selection and the drinks from the bar are good as well. Great spot for a quick bite or to chill and drink with friends. Though in the past couple years some great menu items have disappeared at some point (fried cheese was 🔥).

During Salem's busiest time of the year, we got a seat for 2 immediately outside. It was great. Food was good. Service was very fast. Had no problems!

The steak quesadilla was tasty and the burritos are good sized

The burritos and tacos are delicious and are by far the best thing on the menu, so I would recommend them to anyone visiting this place!

Early afternoon lunch was quick and satisfying. Nice setting, on street parking for me was easy. Need to add tamales to menu...

We went to this place because it had high reviews on yelp, but I think it was good, but not great and the music is so loud we couldn't hold a conversation while dining. I have better Mexican food else where.

Great place for Mexican food! We did have to wait about an hour, but we had a large group. I was very impressed with their customer service. They have a large menu with lots of options. Hope to come back soon!

Absolute favorite mexican restaurant on the north shore. Fast, friendly service & everything on the menu is good (trust me, I've tried it all.) Great atmosphere with funky art and cool music. They often have a wait, but it is definitely worth it.

Such delicious food. Highly recommend coming here. It was super busy so the service suffered a little but I would surely return, maybe just not on a Saturday night. Tip your server.

Phenomenal food and atmosphere!

They couldn’t handle a party of 7. We waited about 2 hours to get a table when there were plenty of smaller tables that could have been put together for us. The hostess told my group to confront another table and ask them to leave, trying to initiate a fight. I will NEVER go back again.

The service and food was great. Our server Jay was so helpful, friendly ,and attentive.If your craving good Mexican /Latino food come here. Also and FYI there is no parking lot only street parking so bring quarters.The burrito was massive and my husband enjoy every bite . I would recommend this restaurant to others .

Last week was our first time we came to that good restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last time. We had a good time with the attentive service, with the high quality meal and booze and with the friendly charge. We will no doubt go back there soon.

Pretty good food.and some great drinks we had their cucumber cooler and that was fantastic more suited for a hot day though. As well as the peachy ghost they said it was going to be spicy but it really wasn't. We both had the tofu burrito and nachos. The nachos were top 3 I've ever had.We had a side of plantains and they just weren't good. We didn't even eat more than 2 a person.

Solid food, reasonable prices, great decor. I highly recommend for a fun and casual spot to eat and drink. Amazing art here too. It deserves 5 stars for it's overall delivery vs prices. Paid $100 for 6 people to have dinner. Can't beat that for downtown Salem

Really good mixed drinks, tacos, and salads. I had the shrimp avocado salad and it was perfect with my skinny house margarita. Husband and son loved their tacos. Daughter loved the shrimp quesadilla. Great vibe, good staff, great food.

Loved this place. I went here for the first time last night and it was definitely everything I expected from the local hype (and by local I mean a combination of Salemites and my partner, from whom it came highly recommended). I had the steak chimichanga (who can say no to a fried burrito) and a virgin strawberry margarita. The kitchen and the bar were both firing on full cylinders because both were delicious. I also loved the collection of people inside. The staff were all really nice and the food was quick to come out but it clearly was due to excellent timing, not a case of pre-made food sitting out. Kudos to the BOH and FOH, your game is on point. I will be frequenting this place, make no mistake.

Food is always delicious here. They accidentally messed up my gluten free order and thankfully I noticed because otherwise I would have been very sick. The service was great though and the food was delicious. The margarita was nice and strong as well! Pictured here is my brother's meal, which was the size of his face and my drink!

My wife and I love this place. The staff are wonderful. So friendly. The food is tex-mex, sort of. They really do their own thing here and they do it very well. The food is delicious and creative. Generous proportions and very reasonable prices. It's certainly not the fanciest place you'll ever eat but it is comfortable. The ambiance matches the food. Unpretentious but just what you need when you get hungry. I am certain you will enjoy this place.

So....I know everyone loved this place but we had a mixed experience. The girl who took our takeout order was lovely and friendly. Take out process was easy. Prices were good. We ordered an avocado salad, chips and salsa and guacamole, and boneless Mexican wings. I love spicy...I eat jalapeños with no issues. But the salsa and wings were WAAYYYYY too spicy. And part of the guacamole was brown and it had a few cheese shreds in it like it was scraped off a different plate and put into our guacamole container. Huge bummer, I was psyched for salsa and guacamole and I couldn’t eat it. The salad was good and fresh and huge. So again, mixed bag.

Friendly staff and quick service, we were there around lunch time and it wasn't super busy. The burritos are HUGE, I did manage to finish mine but it took a dedicated effort to do it.

Very tasty Mexican food. Great flavor and huge portions. I recommend splitting a burrito unless you're an absolute beast and are hungry. The El Pastor tacos should not be missed. For me though what I really loved was that they weren't afraid of good flavors and spice. The meal had an awesome pallet that didn't get muddy.

Howling Wolf in my opinion is a great restaurant. It's a casual, laid back place with wonderful service and good food. The burritos are huge and amazing! One could feed two people. They also have a bar for people who just want to stop in for a drink. One of the best things about Howling Wolf is that they DELIVER!!! Definitely check this place out if your around the Salem area.

Chicken quesadilla was delicious, as was the carne asada and queso. Service was good. Wait time for dinner was about an hour.

Reasonably priced. Great portions. I would recommend this place to anyone, particularly anyone with kids who like to share meals. The fajitas meals are big enough to split with a smaller child. Fajitas were pretty good. No complaints. Rice that comes with it is tasty and the salsa is good, not that nasty stuff out of a jar mass produced. Stop in!

Delicious food and had a fun lighthearted atmosphere.

The food is awesome. The drinks are even more awesome. I love it here. Sometimes I order take out, other times I eat while here. Really depends if I want to spend money on drinks or not. But either is always a good choice.

Food is good. Illegally refusing cash as payment, even when reminded that it is illegal.

One of my favorite taquerias, nice atmosphere and great fresh food with generous portions. I highly recommend the avocado fries for appetizer. Enchiladas, burritos and chimichangas are great.

Greeted and seated quickly and even served quickly! This one was a new record as many times you just hang around places and ending up you yourself indecisive what you want (go or being served). So awesome staff 😋!The portion is huge and have everything! It was a bit weird that the sizzling chicken was actually NOT hot... the plate itself was sizzling the chicken was just warm.The cocktail was great and had a kick and I definitely was not howling of hunger when left.

The queso is outstanding. They make a mean burrito as well. Always gotten take out from there and it has always been spot on.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Salem with a unique menu. They have the option of dining in and pick up window. Menu is unique and the prices aren't too bad. Slightly pricey but worth it because their portion sizes are good and their food is unique. Staff are nice and helpful. Not a lot of free parking around there.

It's rare that I order food for delivery and my expectations are exceeded from start to finish. The person taking my order knew her stuff about allergies and took her time to get my custom (lactose intolerant) order right, and I didn't feel rushed - very comfortable customer service.The food came on time and... It's kinda hard to articulate right now because I'm in a bit of a food coma. It was *buuuuurp* just so good. I can't wait to eat my.. leftovers.. tomor..zzzzzzzzzzzz
